Accessibility

JLC Speech Therapy is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Conformance status

We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have completed a structured remediation program covering color contrast, keyboard operability, focus management, semantic structure and page titles, form labelling and error handling, media and motion (including reduced-motion support), interactive components, and our content-management and account areas. Automated accessibility checks run on every release.

What we've done

  • Text and interface colors meet AA contrast, including buttons and accent text.
  • A visible skip-to-content link, visible keyboard focus, and managed focus on navigation.
  • One main heading per page, descriptive page titles, and labelled navigation landmarks.
  • Form fields with associated labels, required-field indication, and errors announced to screen readers.
  • An image carousel that is keyboard-operable, pausable, and respects reduced-motion preferences.
  • Decorative imagery hidden from screen readers; meaningful images carry text alternatives.
  • Automated checks: axe-core runs in our test suite and continuous-integration pipeline, plus accessibility linting on every code change.

Review

This statement was last reviewed on 6 September 2026. We re-run automated accessibility checks on every release that changes the interface and conduct a full manual review at least twice a year.
